WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
INTRODUCTION TO WORSHIP THEME
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Lent calls us to journey, this and every day,
following the way of Jesus.
Lent calls us to journey to the place
where the One sets a bow in the clouds
and emerges from the waters of baptism.
Lent calls us to deep relationship with
the One who gives us a new identity.
Lent calls each of us to take up our cross,
to trust the One who bears it with us.
Lent calls us to journey with God.
Let us worship the One who calls us into a deep relationship.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God, you call us to deepen our relationship with you,
our neighbours, and all creation,
yet we are not prepared to do this work.
And so, in confession we pray:
We confess that we have not loved our neighbours
because our neighbours include Indigenous people;
they continue to face discrimination and injustice.
Help us to use this season of Lent
to examine our attitudes and our long-standing,
historical tradition of oppression
and violence against those who are different than us.
Open our minds, hearts, and spirits
so that we may deepen our identity,
faith, and relationship with you.
We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
