This second Sunday of Advent, we join with Malachi and Luke in imagining the Advent of God among us. Those who dare to imagine God embracing the world with peace are those who have prepared for it. Is it possible for us to see the small signs of God’s Shalom in our lives lives and communities?

Today is Eternity Sunday—a day for us to remember loved ones who died, acknowledge our grief and lament, and remember God’s promises. As we grieve the death of our loved ones, we are reminded that God’s Spirit gives us the power necessary to endure and persevere as we walk through life’s darkest valley.
